Low Aerial class

What is it? Beginners low trapeze exercise (not circus training), which works on strength and flexibility whilst emphasizing grace, beauty, flow and awareness of yourself in space. I describe it as ‘play for adults’

The class will be physically easy for some and not so easy for others. It challenges not only your strength, but it also pushes your boundaries of what your body is used to doing. It can be a real mental hurdle to hang upside down by your knees and swing.

Format: Class begins with floor work and then moves to using the trapezes at heights varying from 450mm to 1800mm from the ground. A portion of each class involves hanging and swinging. There is no need for safety mats or pads

Who does it? Anyone can do it. You don’t have to be fit, you don’t have  to be young.  Students work at their own level and experience things they didn’t think they could do.

What’s different?: Unlike other exercise, this class takes your body through 360 degrees of spatial activity and awareness. The moves taught are not a rigid set of exercises, and the teaching method and varied approaches work around everyone’s physical needs

What to wear: Comfortable clothes that you can go upside down in, no shoes.

What to bring: a towel or exercise mat, ‘”your inner child and your sense of adventure”
